July 2nd 2010, Paul Franco & Aaron Culliney crossed the ‘Alenuihāhā channel (Big Island to Maui) on kites (first time ever), with no support boat.
The ‘Alenuihāhā channel lived up to our expectations: we encountered all conditions and major challenges. It was an adventure!

The GPS devices will update position every minute.

The riders may leave the coverage area for the cellular technology mid-channel. Do not be alarmed! This is like passing into the radio blackout while orbiting the far side of the Moon. Their track will be uploaded in full when they get within the coverage area on Maui.
